who would like to give me a 50 cent tour and explain how failed crankcase heater leads me to High pressure lockouts,
my brain tells me the refigerant is carrying the oil out with it(duh) and that the oil is not compressible in the system, voila, high press trips,
am I close?

The crank case heater is to keep the oil warm and prevent refrigerant from migrating and condensing in the compressor sump. If the heaters bad not operating then you can
 pump out excessive oil
 operate with out proper lubrication
 AKA kill the pump.
NO relation to excessive head pressure
