    Thanks Dan and Erin,

    Seeing P.P.M. reminded me of my days in underground mining dealing with Radon Daughters
    in parts per million and mine gasses like Methane and Hydrogen Sulfide and measuring them with handheld Drager bellows vacuum pumps.

    In thermostat talk it can mean able to handle equipment having up to 3 Heating stages and 2 Cooling stages.

    I think some are missing:

    RFN = Right Fastly Now (really important)

    OSRFN = Oh Shoot Right Fastly Now (even more really important)
