What brand/model heater?

Hello all, my brother is looking to buy a house but its got a boiler heating system in it. I'm curious if anyone would be able to know the brand/model of this select unit? It's the only thing that really looks skeptical in the house and the current owner doesn't know the age.

1940's to 1950's. If it isn't leaking it can be cleaned and and adjusted by someone that knows hot water systems and combustion analysis. There is some problem with the vent by the chimney that needs to be repaired. It could leak tomorrow it could leak 30 years from now. Unless the gas controls have been updated they are somewhat less safe than modern controls. It would be good to have someone look at it before buying it to see if anything expensive needs to be repaired.

That's a "National-US" boiler. National-US was formed by the late 1950s merger of National Radiator Co and United States Radiator Co. Around 1965 or so, the Crane Co. bought out National-US.

In the early 1970s, Crane sold their boiler operation to Slant/Fin, which still makes boilers today.

It can last many years and fail at closing.

    Budget replacing it!
