    Never.. in all the 40 plus years that we have been pressing have we ever encounter this!
    Question: Are you "Dryfitting" ?
    Viega would want to know about this !

    I have had a press-fitting without the "O" ring A few years ago. Ever since then I always check.

    It happens. We have all seen plenty of defective pvc, copper and black fittings.

    Viega invented ProPress in 1989, what were you pressing before that? We don't even press much but I see torn or missing o-rings almost monthly. It's habit to check every fitting now

    Yes the year was approx.1981 ...While in my trade as a pipe fitter in Bad Homburg v.d.h near Frankfurt Germany we started using a pressable fitting made by Mannesman ..
    Sooo..... NO ....Viega did not Invent Pressable fittings.. :/
