Steam, individual radiator shut off

Snowmelt

Just for future reference, on a water boiler that has rads I installed radiator valves ( danfos was the manufacturer ) that controlled each radiator.
I see on steam they have valves that replace the bleeder on the valve. Has anyone tried these?

Those do work, @Snowmelt -- though not quite in the way the valves for hot water systems do. As the listing states, they work by closing the vent. There was a rather lengthy thread about them a while back... somewhere around here... but they depend very much on the boiler cycling off (usually on pressure, but it could be on a timer) from time to time to exert control, and it's important to remember that they can only reduce the heat output from a radiator -- not increase it.Br. And they don't replace the vent (not "bleeder", vent
).
You install a vent (not bleeder!) onto the TRVNJ Steam Homeowner.
