Long Heating Cycle

I have a two family house . I just had new gas steam boilers installed.

Unit 2 ( includes a main living area on 2nd floor and Bedroom on 3rd floor )

Same size Boiler as unit 1 ( Burnham PIN 5 140 BTU)

Takes about an hour for the heat to achieve a 3-degree rise

All basement pipes insulated

3 of 8 risers insulated 3 more could be; 2 hidden in walls

All new vents ( this helped balance the heating)

Any suggestions on how to shorten the heating cycle?

No, a build-up of pressure on Unit 2.

Is there any way to increase pressure in the system to get steam to rise faster?

It can take an hour to raise the temperature 3 degrees. There's no magic here. Set your thermostat to recover earlier, or don't have a setback and keep a comfortable temperature all the time. When you let the house cool off 3 degrees, it's not just the air, it's the walls, floors, furniture, everything. That's a lot of mass to heat.

Never ever increase your pressure setting, and never allow anyone to increase it. In fact you should probably lower it.

If you heating is even through the house and the system runs quietly, I think you are trying to solve a problem that does not exist.
Despite what the marketing folks at Nest may be telling you, extreme setbacks do not save energy. If you like to have the house cooler when you sleep, do as Paul suggests and set the t-stat to anticipate.

Hi Paul

The Main Vent was replaced with the new boiler.

I did not think raising the temp 3 degrees was a significant ask. Thanks for pointing that out.

I will keep it a more constant temp
