Infrared pics of radiator, again

Though I would see how a radiator heated with just about 1/4 of it filled with water, starting with 63° fill water.

Within 20 minutes you could feel heat convecting up thru the sections. After about an hour, conduction had the very top at about 90° and the entire radiator was warm and convecting from the lower section at about 116°. So the top at 90°, bottom at 116° average temperature 103° to calculate heat output?

Makes me wonder how it would look if the top sections were not connected, like a steam radiator.
I suspect after a period of time conduction warms the entire iron vessel.

I'll look again in an hour or two.

Hot Rod's workshop. 1/2 pex runs to poor unsuspecting radiator. Camera ready.

    Love it!

Boys and Toys.....show off....I am jealous!

What would be interesting is a video of a steam only (no top connections) radiator attempting to heat as a hot water rad.
Maybe with an air vent where the steam air vent is located...with and without.

We have all seen a steam only rad with air vents drilled into each section.....it was in the salvage yard BTW.

To all...have a good Thankfull day!
