Oil-gas steam replacement

Pulled a 1930s Kohler No12 oil fired steamer out. Boiler was in great condition for its age, was well maintained, it started to show signs of corrosion in spots, however it was replaced because the HO was looking to sell in few years so he’s trying to update the equipment. Boiler was beautifully piped with a 4” riser and a 4” header. I went back in with a gas Weil-McLain EG35. Upgraded the main venting with two Gorton No2s, and we split the mains as they were bullheaded. Almost 100% complete, chimney guy is going today to line the chimney.

I didn't know Kohler made boilers. Never saw any around here.

    Nice job @Dave0176

Not sure the chimney will be large enough for that vent LOL

90 years for the Kohler... gotta love it. How long do we give the WM in its place?

The oldest EG I’ve pulled was 40 years old. 1978 casting date and I pulled it in 2018. Hopefully the newer ones last as long.

All of my radiators are Kohler, but I have no idea what was originally connected to them in the mid 1920s. They're the reverse threaded nipple style. I haven't seen any others anywhere.
