I'm in the middle of making a PEX versus copper decision for an ongoing reno. Probably will do a mix.

Does it still work if the copper is green? How do you stop poles, hand rails etc from turning green?

Does it still work after build up lines copper water pipes?

The reports I saw on COVID-19 said it lasts for up to 4 hours on copper.

I'm thinking it's more of a "Yeah, it does help some, but you still need to disinfect things so it's no magical cure" type things.

CuVerro claims anti-microbial properties for tubing made of its copper alloy. From a quick perusal of its manufacturing partners it doesn't look like any tubing manufacturer is using it yet. https://cuverro.com/products/copper-tube-rod
