Honeywell 700-107 replacement valve

I've been told that the valve in my Kozy Heat fireplace needs to be replaced, but Honeywell no longer makes the part (id 700-107 natural gas). Tech is saying entire fireplace unit will need to be replaced. If I need to spend a few hundred dollars on replacement or retrofitting the valve assembly, so be it, but having to replace the entire fireplace doesn't make much sense to me. Anyone able to chime in on the extent of replacement needed, or suggestions on replacement valves?

Thanks in advance.

    Sure that's not a Robertshaw valve? The model number looks like one of theirs...............

    Have you tried contacting Kozy Heat?

    I have a call into them - Kozy Heat requires I go through a local rep, and most local reps only will service (or even discuss) units they have sold and installed - I'm not the original owner so hard to tell who that would've been. I'm still trying, but am also researching SIT valve replacement kits, though have yet to find one that directly translates to a 700-107 replacement.

    A picture of valve showing connections and mod numbers might help.

    sorry, thats the infamous honeywell RF valve. made for many fireplace manufactures not just Kozy. then abruptly HW just stopped and never made a replacement. just got out of the fireplace specific valves altogether (they still may make low capacity gas valves for space heaters that will work in some fireplaces, but not yours)

    for others reading the RF valve has a built in board the controls flame height and fan speed as well as temperature. board and valve cannot be separated. very unique and special part. too bad HW just left many hanging including many dealers with warranties that couldnt be kept

    sorry

    Try Calling honeywell for their recommended replacement

    Yeah, just did some digging, looks like @ch4man is correct. There is not any replacement for that valve, and as far as I can find Honeywell did not make a replacement. Sorry to say, but it seems like you are looking at replacing the whole unit.

    Send a picture as I may be able to recommend a replacement so you do not have to buy a new unit.

    Posting here to see if OP had any luck with a conversion kit, as I'm in the same boat. Princeton PRC-36-RF fireplace with Honeywell RF Valve 700-107 (Natural Gas). Replaced both thermocouples hoping that would solve the problem, but no luck. Picture of the valve attached. Would really love to avoid replacing the entire fireplace if there is an option. I'm OK with losing the remote control and other functions. Just want to be able to turn flame on and off. Any guidance is greatly appreciated!

    I suggest you get in touch with Princeton Kozy Heat and see if they can help you find a replacement.

    Nov. 2, 2021; I have the same problem, pilot won’t stay on. Thermopiles are fine, 760 and 755 millivolts output. Trouble shooting points to a bad solenoid. The pilot was off for the summer so the solenoid might be stuck in the closed position. Can this be opened, rebuilt/replaced within the valve unit? We need a schematic to open the valve and get to the solenoid but unable to find a schematic anywhere. Coachlou

    @coachlou

    Working on gas valve internals is a good idea. Too much liability. I would suggest trying Robert Shaw or another valve mfg for a replacement

    I have smacked old gas valves with a wrench and they opened back up. Believe it or not it works sometimes. Don't be gentle, what's the worst that happens it breaks?

    Hi everyone, I also have Kozy Heat with Honeywell RF Valve 700-107 (Natural Gas). Replaced both thermopiles, pilot is still not staying ON. A couple of conversion kits I was able to find are fairly expensive, not sure if it makes sense to go that route or replace a fireplace all together. If I am willing to give up RF remote control capabilities, can I replace the honeywell valve with a different one? Anything else I could do trying to get it to work in addition to replacing both thermopiles? Thanks everyone.
