Froth Pak vs Great Stuff?

Hey everyone,

I'm curious if anyone knows the main differences between these products?
I've used both, but never actually compared them side by side. I know even the smallest ForthPak 12 is more expensive than Great Stuff of all varieties.

What's the differences between them? Is there any reason for Froth Pak to seal small areas, around pipes etc?

    Froth Pak is a two part compound and chemically reacts and cures when the two components are mixed. Great Stuff is a single component mixture, and requires moisture (normally from the air) to cure.

    For air sealing, either will work fine. Probably the only difference is single component takes longer to fully cure, especially when the humidity is low. The two part is sensitive to cold temperatures and may not cure properly if it is too cold.

    I believe Froth Pak also has fire rating associated with it when used as insulation, but that may not be accepted in all jurisdictions.

    And my amateur opinion of Great Stuff Pro (with the metal gun) is that it's not worth it (as compared to the normal cans). It's more expensive and more of a headache to clean.
