Boiler Noise

Does anyone have any ideas on this noise? https://youtu.be/XnA4E4ZAyWQ

The expansion tank was changed after the HVAC guy saw that it was filled with water (apparently the bladder had ruptured). The noise remained, but he couldn't tell us why, and was unwilling to investigate. I understand if you don't know what it is, but don't charge us as though you are an expert.

It seems to be coming from within the boiler when the temp reaches between the two dots on the gauge. Could it be due to too much pressure? Or something with the combustion?

He insisted there was no air in the system, but still hear water "Trickling" upstairs.

Any ideas would be great!

    Your temp is way too high. The noise sounds like water flashing to steam inside the boiler. Best guess, air lock or bad circulator.
    I would not run the boiler in that condition.

    The gauge is showing 220°. What's the limit setting?
    Dont run it like that.
    Sounds like its making steam and pump cavitation.

    Thanks. The problem is that it's freezing out. I do have a tech coming tomorrow. What are my options for reducing the temp?

    Also, the first tech said that the temp was fine, and that the gauge was incorrect. Is that possible?

    Yes it is. Get yourself one of those $15 hardware store laser thermometers and double check him.

    Can you even come close to touching or grabbing the pipes? Do it with a glove on first, just don't burn yourself. It's possible but probably not probable. If the pump is working you should be able to see with the thermometer, that the return is 10-20*f less than the supply pipe. If both pipes are the same temp, then you are air locked or have a bad pump or both. You should not be hearing trickling water....

    So by pump, you're referring to the Taco Circulator? Or is there a pump inside? Also, what do you mean by Air lock? What can be done about this? Thanks for all your help!
