Ok to trim the bottom tab on a taco hy-vent?

It looks like it just stops it from traveling upwards into the body.

I was good g to put it into a 1/8 ball valve and am worried it will bottom on the ball0

You can choose to do what you want, but you cannot choose the consequences.0 -

Shouldn't be a problem with trimming, however another option that we started last making last year is a 1/8" check valve instead.
When using you take the stem out of the vent.
