Ok to trim the bottom tab on a taco hy-vent?

It looks like it just stops it from traveling upwards into the body.

    I was good g to put it into a 1/8 ball valve and am worried it will bottom on the ball

    I don't think Taco made it that long just to get rid of some extra brass.

    I've nipped a couple millimeters off the stem to clear for a 1/8" ball valve. Never had a problem.

    Shouldn't be a problem with trimming, however another option that we started last making last year is a 1/8" check valve instead.

    When using you take the stem out of the vent.
