3.5 Ton replacement

Removed an old York furnace and a 3.5 Ton condenser, the scroll had a bad bearing and the scrolls were rubbing against each other making a racket so they opted to replace the whole system. So in went a standard 80% furnace and 14 SEER 3.5 TON coil in fin condenser (no micro channel crap). Ran out of sheet metal so I gotta go back and finish the return transition. Also added a second return on the other side of the unit because the return trunk is waaay small.

    Is there an internal liquid line dryer in the condenser?
    No drip leg on the gas line that I can see.
    Existing smoke pipe?
    Are you installing a new humidifier?
    Sorry about the critique, but you posted pics.

    @HVACNUT Job isn't complete yet..
    Did not run the gas line it isn't even hooked up that's old.
    Condenser comes with a liquid dryer already installed.
    Yes new humidifier going in.
    Old smoke connected just to put something there
    People needed AC asap.

    I don't do installs anymore, just service. Can you or anyone else tell me why it's become practice to put the dryer at the evap rather than the condenser? Does it really make a difference?

    As far as the drier inside the AC MBG is that manf wants to be sure a LLFD gets installed. That insures it happens. Some ship one loose with the AC cond. That could end up as truck stock to be resold I suppose. :*

    I don't like them because you would have to recover the entire charge rather than pump down to replace the one inside.
    So over the years another gets added outside on LL and you have no idea of the condition of the one inside.

    I like them inside by the evaps coils. They don't rust out this way. That's my only reason.
