Customer has W-Mc Ultra boiler directly connected to radiant manifold.. with proper pro/sec piping. Would a buffer tank addition increase performance of system?

Is boiler over sized ? Is there zones with loads less than the minimum modulation of the ultra?

Thx for the comments Gordy. Boiler is oversized, but it can be choked way back via reprogramming. I suppose the whole point of the buffer is to fight short cycling in the instance you described.

Exactly. So if you have multiple zones, and those zones are less than min modulation then yes, or combine zones. If boiler is over sized yes. I would not expect huge savings compared to right size boiler, and well thought out zoning, but will extend life of boiler components.
