Boiler cycles even when thermostat equal to room temp

System cycles on even after room temp attained
I have one pipe steam with Burnham independence boiler with noisy indirect water storage tank

    Shouldn't the boiler stop cycling if call for heat
    attained? Thermostate set at 70 degrees and system cycles on at 70 degrees.

    Is your Tstat set for 1CPH? This is a recurring problem with the newer Tstats, but easily fixed. Also, the digital Tstat only register integers +/_ 1 deg so it could really be lower than it reads.

    How do you set thermostat for 1 CPH
    My thermostat jusy gives me options for day of week , time and temp in degrees

    Most stats, especially Honeywell and Emerson, won't deviate from the set temp unless the house really warms up or cools down. A few brands will wait til the display shows 69 before turning the heat on and may run it til 71 appears.

    Without a model number it's hard to look up the install manual. If you still have that it should give directions for setting the CPH to 1 or steam. You could try googling it, also.

    Where would I find model number? The thermostat was installed in 2005

    Do you have the manual? For steam it needs to be programmed to SL. You can find the manual online.

    SL option never comes up as a choice
    Only day of week and time
