What are the concerns of using oxygen barrier tubing for a domestic water supply pipe?

    Health wise, it is the same plastic as non barrier PEX, except for the EVOH barrier.



    Most manufacturers don't get their heating tubing certified (although a few do) for potable water applications. It is a VERY EX$PEN$IVE proposition, hence they don't get it dually certified.



    I ran HePEX for potable water in my cabin, and I've not suffered any ill effects.



    Best to check with the specific manufacturer if in doubt.



    If you get caught by an inspector installing non NSF approved piping in a potable water application, they WILL make you take it out, regardless.

    I just read on a piece of hePex ,not for use with potable water. As a result, the question.
