cast iron rad weight
I can't seem to find out how much the following radiator would weigh? American Radiator 8 section 38.5" high, 20" wide, by 9.5" deep. There are 2 on Ebay right now I am thinking about buying. I need to know if it would be realistic based on their weight. I live close but I am wondering if I could put 2 of them in the back of my Aerostar, and how many guys it would take to bring one of them up a flight of stairs with an appliance dolly. Thanks!0 -

Ever Wonder
How they delivered them bad boy when they were new ? Model T Fords and horse and wagon and no stair climbing hand trucks.. Maybe they were brought in sections and assembled on site like boilers ? "The Dead Men Knows"0 -
radiator weight
Hi Jason,
A rule of thumb for estimating weight is 7 or 8 pounds per square foot of EDR. The radiator you describe is around 48 square feet EDR, so 48 x 8 = 384# or so.
