Who can hold better in the testing of Cast or Copper?
with return water @ 90 deg.
With a supply of 145 deg.
Cause where I work, now for 1 2/3 yrs , Slant-Fin hot water tanks keep failing
The only answer to this problem, as far as I can see is to operate both tanks at 140 deg. with constent 3 way mixing valve {supply,return,makup}
an expansion tank would help, The City of Rochester NY, said that Your system is pressuering there Mains?

any help thx?:

    not sure what you mean

    what model slant fin? How are they failing? Is thermal expansion creeping back into the domestic water mains? A back flow preventor with double check valve and a thermal expansion tank would stop that problem.
