Connection between boiler flue and power venter is not sealed.

I recently got a gas boiler with power venter installed. Boiler model is Crown - AWR140ENSZ2PSU and Power venter is Field control SWG 6S. This newly installed system feels really loud from the day it was installed. I noticed that the connection between flue pipe and the vent from power venter does not appear to be sealed. Is this supposed to be open like in the picture? I believe this unsealed portion is the major reason for the excessive noise. I am also concerned if this could be hazardous.

That is normal for an atmospheric boiler. Power venters are often loud put there could be other issues if it is "Too loud" Hw is the venter installed?

Thank you for responding. Venter is installed on the side of the house, about 3ft above the boiler. Can the opening be sealed? I would appreciate any tips to reduce this noise that has been driving the family crazy.

No, you can't seal it. Why was a power venter installed?

I was told that PV was needed due to sidewall venting.
