hello.
If a indirect hot water tank comes with both TOP and SIDE domestic water connection with TOP being 1" and Side being 3/4". The house domestic pipe size to and from the existing hot water tank is a 3/4",
Due to this new tank's layout, using the top connection is a bit easier for piping with a corrugated stainless steel pipe - I want to know is it a problem to just use a Brass 1" to 3/4" reducer on the top the heater directly?
The heater in question is this one.
- Use the Hot and Cold 1" outlet, with a reducer to 3/4". Add mixing valve on top and connect to existing 3/4" pipe.
- Cap off the Side 3/4" HOT water pipe opening.
- Add a drain valve to the side 3/4" COLD water pipe opening.
Does this make sense to you?
thanks,
