Williamson GSA-100 Steam Boiler Tappings

Options

So we usually install Burnham Steam Max but trying to save someone a few bucks on install. I’m sure it does but the manual doesn’t show it so want to make sure. Does anyone know if the Williamson GSA-100 has a right side tapping for the return line/equalizer? Was gonna call Williamson tomm but figured I could check here quick

Yes. They don't approve its usage, but it is there. The only reason that it's not approved, is because they need to differentiate themselves a bit from Weil Mclain

The WM block, and the Williamson block, are exactly the same. WM offers the tankless coil option. Williamson does not. But on their typical standard boilers, the blocks are exactly the same.

so i just put in a GSA 125 and it had left and right return (2.5" on the 125) but only left steam outlet (3" on the 125). IIRC the WM is tapped for a right steam outlet as well and that is another point of differentiation.

perfect good to know thank you, left side outlet is fine for this situation, the right side return is a huge help. Makes things a lot easier

You must have got one, that's been sitting on the shelf for a few years. There was a short period of time where Williamson eliminated the tight hand steam tapping. They reintroduced to the right hand Steam tapping, a few years ago. I just installed a boiler, using the right hand tapping, last week.

@STEAM DOCTOR it had been sitting. it was a scratch and dent. got the casing and firebox bent and dislocated by poor forklift handling in stacking another on top. and it sat until I asked what they had around. no one else wanted to mess with it, but i needed the casing off anyway for placement so a little body work and I saved a grand. I know the second steam tapping has been on again off again.
