Turning off 1-pipe radiator valves.

Hello all,
I'm looking for an article or industry publication that advises not to turn off a 1-pipe steam heating radiator valve that I can link to or reprint for my students. Most of what I see online is from the websites of private contractors.
TIA

Any chance of getting @DanHolohan himself to come and preach to the unbelievers?

We all know that, @DanHolohan —you're preaching to the choir. What @JohnNY needs is for you to come and preach to the nave!
