The ongoing debate about use of SharkBite fittings made me laugh, because it seems there a number of "hot button" questions that are guaranteed to spark a lively debate here. Here are some of my favorite questions, because they seem to have the highest entertainment value:
1.How large a pickup factor does my steam system really need?
2. What is the actual efficiency of a cast iron boiler?

But seriously, these subjects come up from time to time because different situations that happen tend to bring the subject matter to bare again and again. The context in use just happens to have changed.

The answer is always "Yes, if you need more BTU's than a hair dryer puts out to heat your house!"
I realize that right now this includes me and most of the Western world, but hopefully someday we'll have much better insulated housing construction.
