Multizone Minisplit Cfm question

I’ve been looking at mini splits and I see there is a dramatic difference in CFM between 9k BTU & 24k BTU indoor units. I don’t necessarily need the 24k BTU heat load but I do need the high CFM to move the air around since this house Is very boxed up. Would I be able to pair 1x 36k BTU outdoor unit with 3x 24k BTU indoor units but still maintain that high CFM on all 3 indoor units?

The brands I am familiar with you would be overconnected on capacity. I urge you to reach out to a pro for a one on one discussion to come up with a plan because what you are describing is a DIY disaster in the making. if one 24k head is oversized and your solution is to install 3 you are in way over your head.

    Won't work.

There are minimum and maximum total BTU capacities that must be used in order to get the software in each unit to work together. I remember getting a 36,000 outdoor unit and connecting a 12,000 and a 8,000 indoor unit to get it to work with the future 18,000 for an upcoming addition. The system did not work at all with only the 12 and 8 connected. In order to get it to work I had to connect the wires to the 18 in order to have the proper capacity connected for the system software to recognize there was enough indoor capacity connected ot power us the other two units.

I didn't connect the refrigerant lines for 2 years until the addition was completed. But the onboard computers need to see that there is the proper match of connected indoor units in order to operate without error codes jumping all out at you!

After you make that expensive repair and you still have the same problem, What will you check next?

Minis are specific with what indoor / outdoor combinations are allowed.

You never want to oversize a mini!

Mini splits don't work the way regular splits do. If you manually set the fan speed they don't operate as well, in particular removing moisture.

Maybe a high velocity system will do what you want with the air?

Some mini splits have a converter to allow a mini split condenser to operate a standard coil.
