14 year old peerless boiler started leaking
peerless boiler 63/64 349,000 BTU been doing a lot of research but i think its way over sized so I'm trying to get the correct size I have a 6unit building 5 rooms apartment and 5 radiators in each apartment radiators each radiator measuring 24" high
- 5 tubes 12 sections 40edr
- 3 t 10sec 22
- 3t 10sec 22
- 4t 10sec 27
- 6t 8sec 30
- 5t 12sec hallway 40
my calculations I'm getting 140 per apartment X 6 plus the hallway I'm getting 880 EDR now to get boiler size BTU 880x240 = 211,000 BTU can anyone tell me if I'm doing this wrong or right

You've gone one step too far. Compare the EDR totals of your radiation to the EDR rating of the boiler. Do NOT try to convert to BTUh.

Hey Jamie thanks for the super quick response i'm looking at the burnham steam max 250,000 BTU but i don't see an EDR rating of the boiler

Correct. Read this explanation from heating pro Dan Holohan, who started this site:
So your steam boiler ratings include a 33% "pickup factor" to allow for heat loss in the pipes.
I'm just a homeowner, not a heating pro, so I won't presume to give you any advice. But if you want to get into the weeds further, you'll find plenty of debate here amongst heating pros as to whether or not that 33% pickup factor results in steam boilers being oversized for their application. Some steam boiler owners here have done fine with boilers that were sized with little or no pickup factor. YMMV.
Following is one such debate on the subject.

If your total square footage of steam is 880 then the Burnham Steammax 350 or the Crown 49-350S would be the right match to what you need.
