PHOTOCELL SENSORS MOUNTED ON TOP OF HVAC SYSTEM?

Hoping someone may have seen something similar in the past.

I have an HVAC customer that is trying to replace a PHOTOCELL sensor that is mounted to a TRANE HVAC UNIT.

However, I don't believe Photocell is the manufacturer and am not sure where to source?

Is anyone familiar with these and might know which companies manufacture them?

I appreciate your help.

These are used for lighting controls, like automatic dimming of building lights.

Not sure if that's the purpose of this one, though.

Thanks. That's kind of what I was thinking. I've just had trouble finding a distributor or company that may sell them.

unless it’s 240v, any photo cell will work. Take the pvc one out, screw in a bushing to 1/2 and get one of these.

That's almost certainly part of the building EMS/BMS. Any reason why the EMS contractor isn't doing it? He'll know exactly what's required.

Judging by the electronics inside, that's likely a communicating model, meaning it's on a comm bus & talks to the control panel though modbus or BACnet (or possibly something proprietary). To replace it you'll need to know the protocol and address (might be set via dip switches under the LB cover).
