NTI Boiler CH Temperature Setting
Hello,
I recently built a house and finally got around to setting up my different heating zones (2 Living and 1 Garage). During construction, all zones were set at 60°F off the garage thermostat and it ran efficiently. I installed the 2 other thermostats and and had those set at 70°F. Since then, it seems that the boiler runs more than it is off. It is currently set at 95°F for the CH water temperature. Should I turn that temperature up?
For reference
- 199k NTI FTVN Boiler (CH only)
- >50 R-Value in Ceiling
- >30 R-Value Walls
- Northeast
- 20°F at night / 30-40° during the day

Ideally the boiler — or whatever — will be running all the time, providing just enough heat to keep the circulating water at just the right temperature to compensate for the heat loss. The only restriction is that some boilers are not designed to condense. and some won't modulate down far enough (if at all). So having the boiler run more than it is off is no problem.

Some questions:
- What was the calculated load (Manual J) for the house?
- What type of heat emitters do you have?
- Is the outdoor sensor connected and the OutDoor Reset curve properly set up?
