Emergency pricing for boiler replacement
Our 19 yr old Burnham hot water boilers sprang a leak Saturday night two weeks after its annual service . Called my heating people Sunday and they responded quickly and we started the process of choosing a replacement.. urgency was mitigated by being able to catch the leak and bail out the large oil change pan I got under the boiler, just good luck with that part. I was frantically researching waiting for his call back today which finally came at 4:00. The Peerless WTBV 3 we decided on (tankless coil) , easy out and in, ( in garage), The. Price shocked us.
Our original Burnham V74 cracked and crapped at 5yrs old, in the summer. My original heat guy/installer plumber that was our regular plumber for years did the swap. I helped move the old out and new in. That’s it he did the rest. I recall has was on the job the better part of a day, 6-7 hors I’m guessing, as I said it was 19 yrs age and time has become my enemy in some regards, like precise recall. He charged his going hourly rate of the time. Very cool.
(edit) upon researching pricing for current day emergency boiler replacement, with quality equipment), it’s apparent his pricing is only slightly higher than the average. So, happily waiting for him to show up. He’s sadly distracted by sudden family health issues.
I have applied what appears to be a good repair for now sand holding my breath til his arrival.
Sorry again about pricing in the original post. I thought I’d deleted it till I just saw Jamie’s subsequent post on the matter. Best to alll.

Sorry, but we don't post prices here on The Wall… nor will we comment on them if posted.

Yeah, no pricing.
Another reason why I don't care for Burnhams. His original lasted 5 years and the current one 19 years (if I understand correctly) that is not very good for hot water boilers.

You can't delete it, but you can edit it to remove the pricing

Home Advisor, now owned by Angie's List (now Angi) seems to give me reasonable estimated cost ranges for the various home and church construction projects I've scoped out over the past few years. You won't be able to get an exact "should cost" for the details of your specific install, but it does list the various line items that may be involved, with an expected price range in your ZIP code.
I'm not a heating pro and have not used this stuff before, but there are a number of boiler "leak stop" magic potions that can help buy you some time. This is only one such product; there are others. You can read the reviews and see for yourself the range of possible outcomes. Worst case—you still need a new boiler. Best case—you make it through the heating season with your cracked boiler and can replace it at your leisure in the summer.
