Main Vent Type and location on Vent Tree
if a smaller main vent (Hoffman 75) is the first one that sees the air needing to be removed on a vent tree followed by two Big Mouths and one Gorton 2, does the location really matter?
Just placed the Hoffman last on this header and it didn’t even get hot (it was pulled off another header for this test and working), Bigmouths and Gorton worked as expected, have an extra Hoffman and experiementing with faster air removal time.

Shouldn't make a difference- what happens if you put the #75 first?

Just wanted to see if others had any additional in-sight, it’s just fun (kinda of a kid at heart) experimenting with these details

It should get hot if it is venting air to let steam in regardless of where on the tree it is unless there is a water block in the tree or the vent has gotten stuck closed.

It will only get hot when very hot air or steam reaches it. It's not uncommon for vents on dry returns (not on steam mains or steam main extensions) to never get hot — and never close. In fact, they shouldn't…
