Best Wearable Carbon Monoxide Detector

I am looking for suggestions for the best wearable carbon monoxide detector to add to our technicians PPE equipment. I am looking for something rugged, easy to clip on and reliable. Right now everyone has a handheld instrument. The hope is that by finding something small and simple, the techs will clip it on everyday to make protecting themselves easier. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

I believe the one I use is the Sensorcon Inspector. It is small, clips on and seems to be pretty accurate when tested against my Testo 300LL combustion analyzer in situations where I have come across measurable levels of CO indoors. The only downside is it's supposed to only have a two year lifespan and no replaceable sensors or anything like that are available for it.

We also use the Sensorcon Inspector…We purchased the Calibation kit so that we can calibrate our detectors Inhouse vs sending it out .

That's the one I've been seeing as well. I'll check out the calibration kit too.

    Thanks guys!

There is nothing small and simple for poisonous gas detection. If you really want the best of the best carbon monoxide/multiple poison gas detectors you want the Drager or MSA (Mine Safety Appliances) poisonous gas detectors as they are very rugged units.

does the sensorcon let you know if it isnt calibrated anymore?

I don't see that it does show if calibration is required. The calibration process looks simple though. Between these detectors, the handheld CO detecrors the techs have and their analyzers which show ambient CO, I would think they would notice if one of them was showing different than the others.

I like the industrial model, it has an adjustable alarm down to 5 ppm. Any reading of CO should be alerted as soon as possible in my opinion. I don't understand the 35 ppm on most CO detectors in homes. I'm sure there is a concern for false alarms but if I had 30 ppm in my house, I would want to know about it.

It does say something when it's time for a calibration.

I liked mine, but the audiable alarm isn't all that loud, or wasn't when I carried one (several years back). The one time I had it alert, it took a few passes walking in front of the source before I figured out what the beeping sound was.
