Pilot light went out after first run of the season?
old Pennco natural gas 200k steam boiler- was due for servicing but fired it up last night and it ran its first cycle of the season fine. This morning no heat and the pilot was out. Never had this happen in my 10+ years here. I’m going to call to have it serviced, but wondering if this is end of the line for the unit (1970) or as simple as the light went out randomly. Last serviced in 2022, running at 82.5%.

Probably not the end of the line for the boiler — though it is quite possible that something in the burner or gas train has died. Usually not that hard to fix — for a qualified tech.

But beware, when you call in the tech, the tech will possibly tell you the boiler is too old and needs to be replaced. Don't fall for it…make him (or someone) fix the pilot and tell him you'll consider his quote for a new boiler based on how competently he fixes the pilot, that should go well 😅
However, if he shows you that water dripping down from a boiler leak put out the pilot then you can more seriously consider his allegation that your boiler needs to be replaced, haha
