    @Mad Dog_2

    Sterling is very popular around here (MA.) they are owned by Mestek who own HB Smith, Hydrotherm and bunches of other companies.

    Sterling has been around forever and make baseboard, gas fired unit heaters and bunch of other stuff. Office in Westfield, Ma about 10 miles from me.

    There are companies that make generic replacement covers.

    @pecmsg There are several companies that make replacement covers. Baseboards / Vent and Cover / Veil and Slant Fin Revitaline to name a few depending on what look you want

    I thought Sterling was American Standard's budget branding, but that might be a different Sterling.

    looks like Slant Fin element. they have a gray plastic saddle that the element sits in at each support. IIRC

    Found this:

    https://www.amazon.com/Slant-Fin-Hydronic-Complete-Baseboard/dp/B00KX9U2SI

    With that little gray plastic cradle at the support.

    After you make that expensive repair and you still have the same problem, What will you check next?

    It always amazes me that the DMV will issue IDENTIFICATION for just about anything.

    Added a few more pictures to show side profile and cradle. Does not look like slantfin. Interesting design though. Not flimsy at all.

    @mattmia2 No sterling is not part of American standard, Sterling owned by Mestek.

    Mestek owns Sterling, Vulcan radiation, Slant Fin, HB Smith boilers, Hydrotherm etc etc they own probably 30 companies maybe more

    I remember SlantFin had a #15 model that is no longer on the website today. I'm wondering if it was another company that renamed that SlantFin 15 and sold under another name. It was less than 7" tall and I remember that curve at the top of the inside. It definitely has the right kind of element to be SlantFin, or that company got their element from SlantFin.
