This morning I am grateful to be alive. I pray for all lost that day at The North & South Towers, Shanksville Penna, and the Pentagon. I also pray for First Responders we are still losing due to the toxic dust. I pray for the Fambly of Timmy Stackpole Captain FDNY who left behind Tara and their 5 great kids. Michael is now serving in Timmy's old Engine House in Brooklyn. I also pray for Terence Mc Shane, an old rugby teammate of mine, and his wife & kids, who perished that day.

At 846, 903 & 1003 I will maintain solemn silence to honor them, the other 341 Firemen, their families and all victims. God Bless America. Mad Dog

i would hope ever person remembers where they where i know i do . i was back putting the finishing touches on a weil gold w a tankless when the home owner started getting upset and yelling omg ,i went to see and saw the first plane hit on tv . i finished up the job and went to a local reservation and took a hike to look from the summit of a mountain . Im close to 20 miles from the twin towers and i could see the plume of smoke reaching to the stratosphere as the air force jets where in the skyes . At that moment i knew that life as i knew it was never going to be the same in any way shape of form ever. now what 23 years later we all still deal w the whats and why .It totally amazes me that so many just cant seem to get along and put all there engernies in the lowest form of human emotion hate and greed and material possessions ,it really goes to show that humans are not as advanced as they would wish being in a heart beat we go from love to hate ,what a bunch of weirdos stuck in the trap of perception, desires and wants that all just leave to suffering. At some point we the people should look at the similarities not the differences and realize that our strength are in our differences and that acception of the differences is whats called being human not what we are being shown and told to believe . Remember ever one of us gets up and pull our pants up one leg at a time ,where all the same don't think any different.

    peace and good luck clammy

My boss was late that morning in Suffolk county. When he came in, he told me to go to Water St. where we were doing work. (Pretty close) I was westbound on the LIE (Horace Harding) in Queens, and over a rise I saw the smoke, then watched the second plane hit. Put on 1010 WINS and went to a Hotel in Queens we just finished a job at, and they knew me. Cells were jammed but I was able to get a land line from the hotel to my wife.

Terrible day. My flag is flying today. 🇺🇸 I love that they say their names on TV every anniversary.

I was working for a Sheetmetal/Mechanical contractor at the time. They were putting an addition on our building, and I was up on a ladder relocating some wiring or something. The noise in the 100,000 square foot shop is loud when everyone is welding, cutting and banging duct together and I notice all of a sudden it was eerily quiet, and some had radios on, but I couldn't hear what the news was. Got down off the ladder and herd that the first plane had hit the towers.

That and when JFK was shot, I was walking home from school. Never forgot.

I was between Sales appointments in Northfield NJ, (nowhere NYC) and was listening to the AM radio station. When i got to my next appointment, I knocked on the door and asked them If I could see the television. No business need be conducted today.

Some of the fire companies from South Jersey sent personnel and equipment to NYC to help out where they were needed.

I was in school 2nd grade, when JFK was shot. All the teachers were acting strange. Then we were told the news and they made preparations for early dismissal. The mood was somber. But what does a second grader know about that stuff.

After you make that expensive repair and you still have the same problem, What will you check next?

I was standing on the corner of Varick and Watts St when the first plane flew over my head. It struck me what a mechanical sound it was and then I noticed the plane was much lower in the sky than planes typically are. I didn't think much more of it. Not more than 4 or 5 seconds later I heard the crash and looked up and saw the hole in the tower with smoke pouring out of it. There was instant panic around me and a prayer circle seemed to spontaneously form. The Lord's Prayer filled the moment and was interrupted by police shouting unintelligibly into radios. The second plane hit and everyone on the street scattered. No more prayers. No more police. Some people abandoned their cars and ran. I ran into my small 5-unit apartment house to find my friends. They all ran outside to see, then came back in to turn on the news. What was happening?
The scene on the street was indescribable. I was 32 years old and I was terrified. It changed the course of my life. Terror leaves a lasting scar.
Meanwhile, my wife (now ex) and coworkers were advised by security to stay in their building across the street from the towers. No one knew what to tell them to do. When the towers came down they all felt it and heard it but didn't see it. It created more panic. Change of plan. They were hastily told to exit the building and find their ways home. To get everyone out, they were ushered quickly toward large loading dock doors. The doors, now pressed closed with a hill of debris, wouldn't not open. They were trapped in the building surrounded by loud sounds and only emergency lighting.
Finally, we made contact by landline and made a plan to stop trying to stay connected and focus on getting out of Manhattan and get to Staten Island, where I still have family, by boat. When I got across the harbor hours later, a story all its own, she was already there with some of her coworkers and we were both fine.
The day was unimaginable and I am triggered by the concept of all the "Never Forget" stuff we encounter this time of year because if I could, I most certainly would forget. I'd be better off.

I’ll never forget. I was working second shift, aircraft maintenance at RDU. When I went in and received the flight schedule, it was ten pages of cancellations. We spent the next few days taking care of all the other airlines’ grounded aircraft until my airline went ch7. My brother was in NYC. These grace my office walls now.

    I will never forget.

I was on my shop floor when my wife called me and reminded me that our daughter was on a plane, Newark to SF. I was in shock until hours later when we heard she was on a different flight then the ones that hit the World Trade Center. She spent the next four days in Grand Rapids, MI.
