Water Spurting out of Steam Vents.
Not about mine but a friend has one pipe steam cast iron radiator system and some of her radiators are spurting out water. She has put cut in half plastic bottles over vents so that they will not keep wetting wall and has a bucket to receive the water that spurts down dripping to protect the floor.
What is the usual reason for this.Thank you

Need to know the history. When did it start? Were there any changes made to the system? What is the water level in the boiler? There was either too much water in the boiler and/or system. Or there is water getting trapped by any one of a number of potential causes. Are the radiator shut off valves fully open?

Does the water level shown in the gauge glass drop during the heating cycle?
