10 year old Central AC and Heating Home Unit

I read a post here that a AC technician came out and said that the electric heating unit is leaking oil. I had the same thing happen to me the technician showed me a picture of a puddle of oil under my heating unit that is located in my attic. So I been researching on how to fix it. But I do not see any oil reservoir on my unit and the motor only uses small dash of oil. The technician said if I do not replace the motor it will stop working. The fix was $$$$$ but not sure if it is true the my Tran unit has an oil reservoir since I am not an ac technician.

An air handler with electric heat would not have any oil in it. Most blower motors now are sealed.

    Can you post some pictures?

If your Trane air handler is 10 years old, then then blower motor is permanently lubricated. There are no oil ports. And it's probably a constant torque motor, so that makes it smarter than the tech.

I'd say the "oil" is some kind of funky condensate pooling. Can you post some pics?

There is oil in the refrigerant system, it's possible that it came from there—in fact, finding refrigerant oil is a common indicator of a refrigerant leak.

Any issues with the AC not keeping up, or icing over, or frost on a pipe when the outdoor unit is running?

Did you verify it's oil & not water (condensate)?
