York 2 stage heat pump wiring

I live in Minnesota. I have a 2 stage York heat pump with a standard ecm gas furnace for the real cold days. The heat pump has a built in ambient temp sensor that connects to its circuit board. How can this system be set up to automatically switch from heat pump to furnace at 20deg? I have Honeywell vision pro 8321 thermostat.

It’s in the installer menu!
why 20*?0 -
I don’t work with that brand- but if you have a “communicating system”, 4 wires, then your fancy thermostat will have all of those settings. If you have a non communicating system, probably 6 wires minimum, then you need a typical dual fuel thermostat0

Ahh I failed to read the entire post—-there’s no way that’s gonna work- the stat needs to be set up as dual fuel (but I’m not a York guy)0

Need model number of the heat pump & furnace to be sure, but that thermostat can manage a dual fuel setup itself without issue—although you will need a wired outside air sensor for it, part number C7089U1006. (It may work with a redLINK wireless outdoor sensor...until the battery dies. Go with the wired sensor.)0
