Where can I buy a 1-1/2 x 1/2 eccentric bushing for a steam radiator?

I need a new eccentric bushing for the return side of a radiator. Everyone sells the normal bushings, but trying to find eccentric anything is nearly impossible.

You need a NYC Plumbing Supply.  Try Webster in the Bronx .  Mad Dog 🐕

Grainger:  "We gotta bring it in from the hub, the central warehouse, Peoria!"   They never have what need that day...Mad Dog 🐕 🤣

I asked a similar question last year.
    https://forum.heatinghelp.com/discussion/189046/source-for-eccentric-bushings#latest
I was looking for 2x1.25 and 1.5x1.25, so a lot less of a jump than the 1.5x.5 you are looking for. When I couldn't find bushings, I priced out eccentric couplings, then I decided the improvement in the depth of water left in those one-pipe radiators was not worth it.
Several people recommended using 90's and reducing on the vertical, but my situation would not allow that.
Good luck with your search and please let us know if you find any.

Agreed. They used to have what you needed, when you needed it.

Now, they just stock the same tools as the home centers, they got some shoes and boots over on that wall, got some gas cans and trash cans over there. Got some tool boxes, maybe, just maybe might have a 35-5 capacitor.

Oddly enough I had one in a "misc" box gotten at an auction.
I figured I had to have at least one in my hot water heating system so used it in a tee for a temp/pressure gauge. Sort of a novelty to point out to the few who might have ever seen one.

I doubt they are available unless it's old stock.

Neither Ward or Anvil have any eccentric bushing in their catalogs.

    They both show eccentric couplings

    Eccentric couplings are $$$$

Personally I would use a reducing 90 deg elbow

I suppose if someone was desperate enough you could take an 1 1/2" pipe cap (a steel one used on HP steam would be better than malleable) and drill and tap it off center.

maybe grainger had the eccentric coupler and we told them to use a coupler or a reducing street ell for like 1/10th the cost

None of the current vendors seem to have eccentric bushings, but existed 100yrs ago

If Ward and Anvil stopped making them it means there was not enough demand for them to be worthwhile to keep in production.

The one at McMaster is a coupling not a bushing

Nice find.... A little more than just a bushing.. look closer
One way to get familiar something you know nothing about is to ask a really smart person a really stupid question

    Do you know a machinist?

Anyone with a 6" swing or larger metal turning lathe could make one from a 1.5" solid pipe plug. They could give you just about any amount of eccentric offset you need.
