Yes you can ignore the fittings for the hot water coil. Either cap one -- and ONLY one -- of them,, or just leave them open.
Try and keep in mind that not just any old boiler will do -- at least try to match its size to the amount of radiation that you have. There is some leeway -- but both too small and too big will give you trouble.Br. Jamie, osb

Ok thank you very much I was going to replace it with the same type and size just I have seen the same btu with a water fittings and was not sure if something inside might have been different from the factory. Thank you very much for getting back to me0

I'm on the Nassau/Queens border if you want a Professional opinion. Farmingdale, Bethpage, Syosset, Melville, Amityville, Massapequa, Oyster Bay, Cold Spring Harbor, Laurel Hollow, Copiague ???? I think that covers all the towns on that border. Know them well. Mad Dog 🐕0

I would highly urge you to contact @Mad Dog_2
I'd also recommend not wasting your time with a used steam boiler, it'll likely be just as bad, or close to what you already have. Unless Mad Dog knows of a used one he pulled, or is going to pull from somewhere just because they were switching to heat pumps or something.
Judging the life of a boiler is something that takes experience and you generally can't tell by looking at it.Single pipe 392sqft system with an EG-40 rated for 325sqft and it's silent and balanced at all times.

Thank you very much for all the advice I would love to go new but with being broken and broke I have to put things back together and do what I can with the little I have. We are all being chased off the island if your not rich and I'm just trying to survive the last years. Have a good one and thanks all for the info. I did send mad dog 2 an email.1
