Can anyone explain the difference the taco 007e F2 and the F4 ? Also if I can get a deal on the Taco 0015e3 is that pump more powerful than the 007? I have 5 loops (2 zones) basement / 4 loops (2 zones) main floor / 3 loops (2 zones) top floor.  House is about 3000 sq feet (1000 per floor)

I am currently using the 007 (not ecm)

"more powerful" is not particularly helpful with pumps. You have to look at the pump curve -- the relationship between head developed and flow -- and compare to the system head curve -- the system head loss against flow -- to determine which pump will deliver more flow.

Really, you need to know what the system requires for flow.
Typically 1/2” loops run .50- .75 gpm. The length of the loop and flow resistance of the circuit and fluid type need to be considered. Then you make the selection.

    12 loops at .5 per = 6 gpm, as a starting point.

Multi or variable speed make it easier to select a pump, in the dark😎 You would like the circ to run mid curve to get the best bang for your buck, hence the sizing criteria they provide.

007e ECM runs more efficiently than traditional 007 PSC type motor. The higher efficiency is because the rotor runs closer to synchronous speed, or less slip if you will.
hot rod explained it nicely about the need to size the pump correctly based on flow and head. Too much pump, or what you said more powerful can result in velocity related noise, and erosion corrosion. Do the math, and buy the right pump for the job. BTW, in most cases the 007 works just fine, it’s a beast! If you need help with sizing, contact Taco tech support at 401-942-8000

I’m going to call Taco in the morning. However from the pump to the second floor is 15 feet.  So does that mean my 007 is not adequate. I’m trying to read the chart but don’t understand it

Hight has nothing to do with it, head pressure and pressure drop isn’t night.

A good way to describe this is what goes up must come down on a Ferris wheel.

Taco recommended the 0018e and to turn on all the zones and then let the circulator adjust as they open and close. Now I can’t remember if they said in Bluetooth mode or in zone valve mode.  I do like the idea of the VT2218 and the pipe sensors adjusting to a Delta T of 20

Unfortunately I cannot find Taco 0018e in stock anywhere. It is really unfortunate as I was hoping this circulator would have helped me calculate the head in the system... as I am really struggling to figure out what that is for my setup. Is there any alternative to the 0018e?

Grundfos 15-55, B&G Eco20- 18, Wilo ECO 16, Armstrong Compass, AquaMotion Smart are all the similar size circ. Pick your color, they are work much the same

The 0018e and the 0015e3 have the same maximum performance curves. The difference between the two is that the 0015e3 has only three settings, low, medium and high. Low and medium are constant pressure modes, meaning the circ will speed up and down to maintain a constant discharge pressure when zone valves open and close.

If you hare not using zone valves, it will find the speed it needs to in a zone circ setup.

With the 0018e, you end up with around 18 different settings when you use the bluetooth connection and the app to fine tune it to your system.
