Does this old acretherm thermostat use asbestos?

I don't know much about thermostats and was just curious if anyone knows?

    No t-stats used asbestos.
    Mercury is a possibility

It wouldn't surprise me if there is a tiny amount of asbestos in some wire insulation or insulating washers or especially in the insulation in some heat anticipator resistors.

But not enough to worry about, unless you are an absolute fanatic.

The liquid in the thermometer will be alcohol.

The active element is a bimetal.
