You'll need to measure the radiators and figure out how much load is connected to it to size the replacement. is it leaking? It looks to be 50+ years old but doesn't look like a bad installation.0

You should still measure the radiation to make sure the boiler is the right size. Make sure to follow the MFG. piping instructions and skimming instructions. And make sure the venting is up to snuff.
You can find all the installation instructions and wiring instructions on line at Weil McLain or Supply House .com0 -
Since there is a boiler in that series that is one size smaller an EDR survey should be done to best serve the customer. Their old boiler may have been cycling on pressure and they would never know. Your biggest problem presently may be to find one of the proper size (supply chain issues). Knowing what you actually need is a better position to be in. An EDR survey only needs to be done once, if the information is kept any future changes to the house can just easily modify the existing information.

Well, of course you can. I can replace someone's 2001 Toyota with a nice used one, too. Will it work? Sure. Is it the professional thing to do? No. Is it the best service for your consumer? No. Will it come back to bite you? Probably not. You can do it right -- see the guys above -- or you can do it the easy way. Show this uninformed homeowner that YOU are a professional! Measuer the radiators and get a properly sized boiler.
Age may have killed that boiler, but excessive water usage could have also! Excessive short cycling, excessive pressures.
