Probably not a bad idea for you to get "We've Got Steam Heat" or "The Lost Art of Steam Heating".0

Do you favor one over the other?0

Not a bad idea for a beginner to have both. We've got Steam Heat is more of a basic introduction to steam heat and some of the simpler homeowner very mild DIY things. Lost Art of Steam Heating is a really detailed discussion of all types of residential and small commercial steam heat systems. With it you could -- with patience -- really come to understand how the system really works.Br. Jamie, osb
