Replace Ancient Cast Iron Steam Radiator with Modern Flat Unit

Hello,
I am renovating a condo in a pre-war apartment building in NYC. I want to replace a single pipe steam cast iron radiator with a modern flat wall mounted units. Does anyone have any advice/experience with this kind of project? Vendor recommendations would be helpful as well. Thanks.

Do you have independent control of the steam delivery to your unit? Basically your own thermostat?

    Consider Runtal for this.

A modern steel rad may be nicer in appearance, but it doesn’t have the mass of a cast iron rad and it may perform differently even if it has the same btu rating.
