Anyone in the NJ area (this is in Red Bank) have any ideas of places to sell old rads?  Customer would like to sell them if possible. Pretty cool patterns on them, and pretty damn big   TYIA

Look for architectural salvage place around your area. Around here, those old beautiful rads get shipped by the container to Europe and the UK for old homes restorations. Opposite from the US.

Craigslist works pretty well for these. I feel sorry for the customer who no longer has them.

I think those ornate ones were made by Reading Radiator Co.

I wouldn’t.....these customers are extremely green, zero carbon footprint kinds folks.  They installled an electric boiler 5 years ago, and their heating bills are as high as $700.

Not only is it costing them more money, they are burning more fossil fuels than they were with steam.

I can't imagine why a green person would install an electric boiler. Was it resistive? Someone really sold them up the river on that one. I know this is off topic, sorry about that. I wish I needed them!

They had on old oil boiler.  I think they’re more about not using fossil fuels than green, per se. Now after a few years, and crazy bills, they decided to do the whole house with Mitsubishi, combination of ducted and ductless.  New system works very well, and should save them a ton of money. They’ve put a lot of effort into sealing and insulating the old house.   Plus we put in a hybrid heat pump water heater.

Those would have been great with a water-to-water heat pump...................

I agree @Steamhead. Ground-source heat pumps are weirdly under-utilized. I guess it's the drilling cost that freaks people out, but I loved mine.

I like my hybrid water heater too, I hope they enjoy theirs.
