Newest Nest thermostat issue

Greetings all,
I just returned from visiting my grand daughter for the weekend and came home to our house being 45 degrees F. Apparently, the nest realized we were not home and allowed the temperature to drop to its emergency temperature of 40 degrees F. We never programmed this in and can only guess it was an update from Nest. My son called two other people with the same thermostat and theirs is the same way. Be sure you check your nest or customers nest to make sure they did not program it in automatically.
Kindest regards
Ray

Yet another reason not to like the things. I may not be all that bright myself, but I resent machines which think they are smarter than I am!

    LOL, @Jamie Hall

I guess being able to turn your heat up or down from your phone or look at your house temp remotely is nice. But it's not for me.

I am just an old relic

That could become a problem. I like the Honeywell Vision Pro thermostats- it sends an email if the temperature falls or rises 10 degrees from set point temperature

After you make that expensive repair and you still have the same problem, What will you check next?
