Evaporator Connection Not What Expected

Hi all, I picked up an evaporator for a wine room application and the TXV connection is not what I expected and I’m confused. Is this a SAE connector and why is it sealed? There are also cotter-like pins around the perimeter. Do I cut this off?

Seems like you have half the system

I never saw one of those. Maybe some type of Chatliff connector0

Looks like some sort of quick connect precharged system.0

Before you cut it off, make sure the tubing is a metal and size you can connect to.0

Standard Flair connection. The holes are to alloy moisture to drain rather then break the flair nut.I prefer remove them and use Stay Brite #8 to solder in the x-valve.0

Ah, maybe it's a metal dust cap inside a flare nut?0

Thanks for all your suggestions. I’ll give it a gentle pry and report back.0
