    The few houses out here that have CI rads would have odds and ends of CI rads on 2nd floor and bd rms. The better looking new design would end up on the main floor for show.

    Could it be that if your house was 1926 or later then the new better looking modern design would be in the living area and the end of production- close out - discounted and in stock older units would suffice for the non public rooms. FWIW

    True, but that doesn't mean that only 1% of homes built in 1920 had electricity installed. I'd say most probably did, but there were far more already built without that tilts the total to 1% overall.
