Constant Banging In Parallel Flow System

Condensate isn’t returning either. I just can’t seem to put my finger on the cause...

Poor guy. His plumber told him that his steam pipes looked old (!) and should be replaced. Which he did, mains, returns, and run-outs. Cost more than a boiler install and everything pitched wrong.

Worst part for us is he used press fitting. So we can’t just unscrew and correct. No. We have to cut and thread in place.

Then there’s the inexplicable: Let’s do one runout in copper and pipe it in such a way that the bulkhead door can only open halfway:

Dang. All my pipes look pretty old. I didn't know that meant they had to be replaced. Should there be a "best used by" date on them somewhere?

That's really sad that contractors need to steal like that to have a business. Yes that's harsh, but it's reality.

Not just stealing. That system was vandalized.

Yes, it’s a bit small. But the poor guy has already spent a fortune, so we are trying just to get it to work, but with minimum required specs.

The first thing that I noticed was the steam outlet pipe has a reducing coupling on it. That's a No No'

Can not see the near boiler piping to make a judgement call on it.

Can not see why the return is higher than the steam main.
If this O.K. Where does the end of the steam drip tie into? Hopefully a wet return.

    Real costly problem to fix
